How to Up Level Your Skincare for Winter

Dryness and dullness becomes the reality for all who experienced the winter season. The low humidity levels and harsh winter wind can rip off the natural moisture from your skin leaving it dry and itchy. Not only your face but also other parts of your body that are exposed to the elements. But it doesn't all have to go down like that! There are steps you can take to keep your skin glowing, hydrated and healthy.

1. Invest in a Humidifier to Add Moisture to the Air.

During the cold season, humidity naturally drops and cold air can’t hold as much moisture as warm air resulting in dry skin, irritated eyes and cracked lips. It's where the Humidifier comes in, it increases the level of moisture in the air indoors reducing the possibility of dry skin, cracked lips and many more.

2. Choose Fragrance-Free Skincare products.

Behind those "synthetic fragrances' ' hides dangerous ingredients such as parabens, phthalates and many more that are hard to detect, and usually, fragrances are harsh to the skin especially those who have sensitive skin. Avoiding fragrance products helps retain your natural oils, try switching to a different product that is fragrance-free like Beauty by Jabees's very own  Eyes with Radiance Serum; Glow Up Essence Face Serum and  Energy Boosting Wash. The ingredients are very gentle, rich and gender-neutral.

3. Stay Hydrated

Winter dehydration is a thing, you may not notice it because you don't sweat or you feel cold. Our body responds in different ways during winter, when you are outside in cold weather your body releases moisture through your mouth and nose. It is recommended to keep hydrated to regulate your body temperature, allowing your blood to carry important nutrients and oxygen around your body and remove toxins from your body. Remember hydration of the body is hydration to the skin.

4. Continue to Apply Sunscreen

According to an article in Huffpost "Alex A. Khadavi, the founder of Advanced Skin & Hair, said, “Reflection of radiation from snow requires aggressive sunscreen protection, maybe even more than summertime as individuals participate in snow activities like skiing and snowboarding. Almost 80 percent of UV radiation is reflected from snow while only 25 percent from the sand.” Reapplying sunscreen will keep it moisturized, radiant and safe from harmful ultraviolet rays.
