Louisa Cheng (Nana) , A Woman In Tech, has worked in consumer electronics design and development since 2004. Louisa had never thought of getting into the skincare industry until 2020. Because of the stress and ‘inactivity’ due to Covid-19, Louisa found her skin becoming more sensitive and easily irritated. Fine lines started to crawl on her forehead and around her eyes. Louisa talked to several dermatologists and tried different skincare products. Unfortunately, none of these helped. She couldn't help but wonder why some skincare products are priced so high, but still couldn't help with her skin problems?
Full of curiosity about how skincare products are made, Louisa enrolled in Cosmetic Science at Hong Kong University, and took further education in cosmetic chemist in Australia. The more she learned, the more she loved the idea to start her own skincare brand. BBJ was borne with a mission to create better, cleaner, simpler skincare that is accessible to all.
“Different people have different concerns, but ultimately, we all have the same goal of feeling and looking good in our own skin. There are so many voices - from magazines to social media - telling us what is good for our skin.
I tend to believe in the natural-borne power of my skin, and keeping my skin routine as simple as possible. Nourishing our skin with the right products consistently, but not overdoing it, is exactly what our skin needs."
